827 10 Avenue SW Calgary, Alberta

You'd think with my last couple posts that I've been seeking out some spiritual guidance when it comes to finding something delicious to sooth my unsettled culinary soul.  With names like "Wicked" and "Holy", it suggests it's food is delightfully sinful or uplifts you to new heights of spiritual consciousness.  Holy Grill on 10ave and 8th Street does a bit of both.

Not a day goes by where I don't have breakfast.  It is my favorite meal of the day.  Unllike the USA, here in Canada, its really hard to find places that will make a good breakfast all day long.

Holy Grill is a great place to go for a tasty brunch.  Breakfast served all day along with some great looking sandwiches, burgers and paninis. They have some unique sides like sweet potato and beet chips and the presentation on all the food is awesome.

I would say it has somewhat of a diner feel.  You order from the front counter, find a seat and they call your name when it's ready.  The owners are behind cooking away but take the time to welcome everyone coming into eat.  The place is clean and it looks like they let local artists display and sell their art.

I saw a photo of their Bacon Avocado Crisp on another review and I just had to try it.  Toasted multigrain Kaiser with fried egg, crispy bacon, fresh tomato, spinach, eggplant, aged cheddar, ripe avocado and light mayo.  $6.75.  It tastes as good as it looks.

My son had the "Wakey Wakey".  Two large, any-style eggs, and your choice of sausage or bacon. With hash browns and toast riding shotgun. $9.50.  Again, best presentation for a breakfast dish.  Eggs were done perfectly, great crisp bacon and the hashbrowns were super crispy on the outside but soft and smooth on the inside.  Delish!

Lastly, my wife had  the "Mr. Chicken" paninis. Grilled chicken, bacon, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, red onions, and mayo $8.  No side comes with so we ordered a side of fries.  Pretty good, flavorful.  I would probably try something different next time.

I like the fact these young guys running this place take pride in their food, put out a tasty brunch/lunch, support local artists and greet everyone that comes into their business like you were coming into their own home.  Give it a try.
